REMEMBER TO VOTE, IT COUNTS
As we go into the upcoming election, we will become part of history in terms of electing an African-American President. I believe that history will show that a new leadership will take our country in a progressive direction. Politics will take on new meaning and our country will heal from the poor decision-making from the Bush administration.
We now need to heal from the lack of responsibility and lack of commitment from not voting in previous elections. Whether it’s state, local or national government, we ( Black people) need to make a personal commitment to become more informed about social and political issues.
What are the political issues and challenges in our neighborhoods? Do the elected officials have a true pulse on our neighborhood issues ? Do we have any ideas about our officials’ strategic planning over the next four years ? I believe that the election of Obama will start the educational process of actively participating in our national political process.
I challenge everyone to actively engage in the true process of electing proficient politicians. In addition, we will support Obama in educating ourselves about the true meaning of political advocacy and personal commitment to our communities and families. Let’s KEEP IT REAL AND VOTE !
